Fuzzy Dice Paradigm for Visualizing Car Control Around a Corner
Custom-molded steering wheel inventor, Ed Dellis, continues to explain the Friction Circle at the Annual Steering Conference in Berlin on April 23, 2013. He shows how it relates to car control and the sensations you feel through the steering wheel.
The fuzzy dice will always point to the tire(s) with the most tracton. So, you now have a way to proactively allocate traction to where it's needed most at any point on the racetrack by moving the dice using just your hands and feet on the controls...simple.
Cable Instinct is used to help visualize the transitions to keep a you tip-toeing around the outside edges of the Friction Circle at all times with more confidence.
To be smooth, Dellis explains that to avoid spiking the friction circle, think of the Egg Toss.
As you approach the limit, slow down your inputs so you don't break the egg, and have our steering and foot control inputs follow a path almost like a Water Drop falling into a pail of water.
